Hello my name is David Shutler. I graduated school with a Bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. Currently, I live and work for the government in Washington, DC. My hobbies include nutrition, fitness, EATING, going out with friends, traveling, etc.
Growing up in rural Saint Clairsville, OH, I have always had a lot of positive people surrounding me and encouraged me to follow my dreams. My parents have had a major role in the kind of person I have become today, and I thank them for that. Especially my mother, who passed away in 2006, she had a major impact on my life. She always taught me to follow my dreams and work hard, because nothing comes without hard work. I truly believe I found my niche in bodybuilding and fitness, and aspire to achieve great things in both fitness modeling and in the industry itself. I am also in the process of getting certified as a personal trainer through ISSA.
In high school, I have always been an athlete playing in both football in baseball all four years. I was a little bit chubbier in high school, and didn't know too much about proper nutrition and training. However, when I went to college, my interest peaked and I started reading more and more articles on proper nutrition/training, and I was hooked. I started seeing gains very rapidly once I started doing things right.
I've always said to myself "I could be in these magazines" but never truly went after it. Well, after some life changes I decided to just go for it. Life is way too short to live on standby. That is why I went ahead and decided to go ahead and work with John. I've heard nothing but good things and was elated at the opportunity.
Working with John was a true pleasure. When I arrived at his house Friday evening in Connecticut, we immediately went grocery shopping and got the foods I would need for the next few days. We came back and grilled that evening, and hospitality was second to none. Saturday we had great weather for the outdoor shoot and he made it really easy and I'm sure the shots will come out great. Sunday was a gym shoot and it turned out great also. All in all it was a successful weekend, and John definitely made me feel comfortable in front of the camera, which made everything even easier. I plan on doing another shoot with him in the near future and would definitely recommend him to anyone serious about fitness.
SPECIAL THANKS go out to John Mitchell himself, Layne Norton, and everyone else who has encouraged me and helped me along the way.
