Waseem Khawaja -- nickname Ricky. I am from Lahore, Pakistan, born in 1979. I came to the USA in 1996 when I was just sixteen. I watched a lot of American television growing up, and daydreamed about one day becoming a model and having an awesome body that I have seen. When I was growing up, I was considered a fat kid. I always wondered how the models had such will power to stay fit, when all I wanted and did, was eat junk food. Then one day I had a wake up call. In HS, I had the biggest crush on this girl, and I got rejected. She thought I was too chubby for her. That crushed me and gave me all the strength to become the best I could be in my life physically.

I came to the USA all by myself, and had to make it on my own. I worked really hard and long hours for minimum wage. It was really hard to support myself, but whatever I went through, I knew that I had to get to the gym that day. I did not have a car, so most of the time I walked to the gym in the middle of the winter. That just made me a stronger person.

Now I am 27, and I work for myself as a general contractor. I am married, and I have three beautiful kids--two boys and a girl. I got married very young and had kids, so that was one of the reasons why I could not pursue my modeling dreams. I had a lot of responsibilities, so I put my dreams on hold.

Now I feel like it’s now or never, because I worked so hard for this. Now days, I bring my boys to the gym with me during the week. At times I go running in the park, where my boys wait for me while they ride their bikes.

I work out four times a week all naturally. I never in my life took any short cuts. Everything I achieved was through hard work outs and the right food. So far everything I did in my life was a challenge, so I am ready for anything. I would love to become a model, and pursue acting.

This is the first time I had an opportunity for a photo shot. John Mitchell was wonderful. He made me feel like I knew what I was doing. It was very comfortable to work with him. I was nervous before the shot. I did not know what to expect, but John made it a great experience. I am looking forward to working with him again real soon.
