Hometown: Chicago, IL
Where I live now: Scottsdale, AZ
What I do full time (School, Profession, etc): I attend school at Arizona State University, where I will be graduating in the spring of ‘09 with a B.S. in Global Business. I work part-time at a popular Italian restaurant called Pasta Brioni in Scottsdale, Arizona. Aside from school and work, I spend the majority of my time as a motivational fitness coach training clients throughout the Phoenix Metro area and online internationally. I continue to pursue my passion in the fitness industry by fitness modeling and contending in national competitions.
Your Fitness Regimen: My entire regimen depends on my current goals and how I want my body to look and feel, but variety is always the key. I get bored easily with the same old routines, so I switch things up quite often to challenge not just different muscles, but myself. I implement a combination of nutrition, supplements, aerobic activity, and weight training. Throughout the week, you will find me doing anything from lifting at the gym, to hiking, plyometrics, bikram yoga, aerobic classes or running bleachers. I always train hard from start-to-finish without much rest in between sets, which keeps my heart rate up, builds lean muscle, and burns fat. I find that if I keep moving during my entire workout, I am able to spend less time in the gym and achieve the same, if not better results.
Fitness Philosophy: I believe that continuous effort is the key to unlocking your potential. Staying fit and eating healthy becomes a lifestyle, not a task. If you fall seven times, stand up eight. Train to exhaustion. See how far you can push yourself not just physically but mentally. Set realistic goals, stay focused, be committed, and most importantly be happy with yourself… this is the key to success!
Life Background (brief bio, sports played, etc): I grew up in a small suburb outside of Chicago, IL where I played football, wrestling, and gymnastics. After graduating high school, I started weight training and loved it so much that I started training for bodybuilding. I competed in my first bodybuilding show in 2004, which I placed 2nd in my class. The experience was unspeakable and I met lots of new people. The challenge of transforming my body into its optimal condition motivated me to train harder and continue to compete. I love the personal challenge and the adrenaline rush of getting out there and giving it my all!
Future Plans: I’m an entrepreneur, with a well-built business background, and a passion for fitness. My future is on the rise and is coming together quickly. I’m in the midst of developing my new business Jacked by Jodscheidt in Arizona and online across the globe (www.jackedbyjodscheidt.com). The business involves in-person and online-personal training, my own private label supplements, unique-customized diet plans, new creative fat-burning & lean muscle building exercises with download capability, and much more! I enjoy the freedom to share my knowledge & experience with others to help motivate them to see their fitness and health potentials. The incredible feeling I get from inspiring and motivating others to achieve their goals is what I live for! I stress the importance of the relationship between the mind/body, and strive to push people beyond their limits and into success!
Any Interesting Fitness-related things I’ve done:
My Diet: My diet really depends on what my current goal is at the time (i.e. lean out, gain mass, or maintenance). For the most part, I try to eat a balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. I also rely on supplements to fuel my body with an efficient amount of vitamins and minerals that I need, and may not get from the foods I already eat. I drink at least 2 gallons of water a day, which keeps me leaner, fuller, and hydrated. A majority of my diet consists of the same foods year round, just cycled differently depending on my current goal. I eat oatmeal, brown rice, almonds, egg whites, lean turkey, beef, chicken, fish, and lots of veggies! My weakness when dieting is peanut butter, I absolutely love it!
Advice for men who want to look like ME: Every individual is unique, so looking exactly like someone else is not realistic, or as important as looking and feeling YOUR best. It is important to make a commitment to yourself and keep it by setting detailed goals and sticking to them. Networking and surrounding yourself with positive people that have similar goals will ignite your motivation and keep you fresh with ideas on how to vary your workouts and fuel your progress. Keep in mind that there are no shortcuts, zero! So don’t get tied up in myths of miracle drugs or diets. Focus one day at a time, and realize that every day you are one set, one rep, or one step closer to looking and feeling your best.
My experience working with John Mitchell of bbpics.com: I was very impressed with John Mitchell’s professionalism and talent. John made me feel comfortable from day one. He always checked up on me to make sure I was working harder each day to achieve the ultimate physique. John Mitchell shoots amazing pictures. Anyone who is serious in the fitness industry must shoot with John Mitchell, he is simply the best! I highly recommend John and plan to shoot many more times in the future with him.
