I am of West Indian descent but born in Brooklyn, New York.  My mother moved here from Trinidad in 1973 and I was born in Brooklyn hospital on December 9th.  I had a very proper upbringing from both she and my dad Albert.  We moved to Louisiana in 1985 to get away from negative city influences and there is where my journey into fitness began.

I was never big into traditional sports like football, baseball, basketball, etc.  I enjoyed things like gymnastics, cycling, and martial art. I rode for a while in order to train for my first centennial around the age of fifteen while simultaneously training in tae kwon do.  Since both endeavors required that I be in shape, I had a regular regiment of running, cycling, core work (upside down sit-ups) and resistance training.  I got into some weight training to improve my speed and power and never really stopped afterward.  I was always interested in adding muscle but never had the knowledge or discipline to get it accomplished.  I graduated high school at 5'08 and about 120lbs.

I finally got more serious about putting on some muscle in my early 20's and was reasonably successful doing so, adding about 15 solid pounds to my frame within a year.  During this period, I found out that I could turn my love for fitness into a career.  So although I went to school to be an accountant I became a certified personal trainer.

I'm 35 years young now ;) and am still a huge advocate of health and fitness.  I have a lovely and supportive girl friend, Tara, who is my biggest inspiration.  I have trained everyone from geriatrics to high school athletes, physique competitors and everyone in between.  I have personally competed in several national level shows and placed as high as 2nd but have yet to reach the coveted 1st place trophy.  In the meantime however, I have used what I've already accomplished to become the feature model for www.torsoplex.com - a new core machine that will soon take the nation by storm.  I've been featured in the book 'Owning the Gift of Aging' by Keith Royal which can currently be picked up on-line.  I landed a role in the movie 'Browncoats: Redemption’ a film for charity, as a Browncoat Leader and was also able to work behind the scenes as the fight choreographer.

I have also started my own business as a Professional Personal Communications Broker. You can check out my web site at www.mmckoy.acnrep.com

Finally, I have been blessed and honored with the privilege of working with John Mitchell of BBPICS.COM.  He's a professional, courteous, and generous guy and a lot of fun to work with.  If you're looking to take your career as a fitness professional to the next level, definitely work with John of bbpics.

I'd like to thank everyone who has been instrumental in what I've accomplished so far, like my parents, Albert & Lydia McKoy; my siblings Melissa and Mattaniah Mckoy;  my mentors Orin Solomon, Jonathan Brantley, James Adlam, Gary Walker, Leanne Gabrielle, Michelle Kerry, and Lionel Walton (this list could go on for a minute);  my workout partners, Blaine, Eric, Brian C., Big John, Damion Forrest of First Step Promotions, Larry Ogle, Zach Taylor, and Virgil Hammond III. I'd also like to thank Lori Lins of Lori Lins Limited who helped me to take my modeling career to the next level by providing exposure for me in the print and commercial industry. In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for me because you never know where I'll pop up next!  If you have any questions about me or my training regiment hit me up at www.malachimckoy.com coming shortly. Thanks for visiting!
