My name is Gavin Davis. I currently live in Scranton, Pa. I graduated from East Stroudsburg University in May of 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing. After two years in the financial services industry I decided that was not what I wanted to do with my life and I am currently attending school for my Masters of Science of Physicians Assistant Studies.
I enjoy anything that is physical or competitive. I have played many sports my entire life such as baseball, wrestling, track and field, and soccer but my favorite sport was always basketball, which I played for my entire High school career. I also enjoy golf, skiing, and being outdoors.
I began lifting weights in high school but with no real structure or discipline. About a year ago is when I decided to approach fitness with more discipline and motivation. I started working out 5 days a week regularly. I lift one body part a day for about 60-90 minutes each morning before work. When I get home from work is when I get my cardio in, usually 30 minutes on an elliptical. My workout schedule is usually chest on Monday, back on Tuesday, legs on Wednesday, shoulders on Thursday and arms on Friday with a different ab exercise every day.
My oldest brother Charlie has worked with John for several years and after seeing my new discipline I had about lifting, asked me if I would be interested in doing a photo shoot. At first I was a bit hesitant and didn’t think I had the discipline to keep a strict diet. Over the course of a few months I began to make gradual changes to my diet and saw the huge difference it made in my appearance. 6 weeks before the shoot is when I took the diet to a whole new level. I did the same thing that most people do, kept my carbs low and protein high.
I believe anyone with the right dedication and discipline can achieve the physique that they want. My advice for anyone who is new to this would be to talk to a few people about your diet, as this is the hardest part of preparing for a shoot. Lifting the weights and doing the cardio is easy, it’s what you eat that will determine how you look.
I would like to thank my brother Charlie for teaching me everything I know about nutrition, supplementation and fitness. Also for keeping me motivated and laying out the diet for me. I would also like to thank my family and friends for always being there for me, especially during the hard times.
Last but certainly not least I would like to thank John for making my first photo shoot a memorable one. For anyone who has not worked with John I highly recommend it. He is a very professional and friendly photographer who was incredibly easy to work with. Being my first photo shoot I was unsure of what to expect but John made me feel comfortable and can’t wait to work with him again. He has great ideas for shots and takes quality photos. Thanks John!
