My name is Matt Van Fleet. I attend school in northern Pennsylvania as well as working part-time at a grocery store as a cashier after school during the week and a stock boy on the weekends.

I started picking up the weights when I was 12 years old weighing at the time about 110lbs. I picked up on the technique rather quick for a kid of my age. I didn't get the point of lifting right off the bat except to put the weights on the bar and just do it. I don't think I even knew about reps or sets or even what a routine was. As I grew older I became more competitive and at the age of 14 years old I entered a power-lifting contest. At a bodyweight of 162 pounds I won the teen age class for bench pressing 230lb. I soon grew out of the power lifting stage and went on to bodybuilding. During the past few years I have been taking it quiet seriously training 6 days a week building the physique you see in the images on my website.

I have really been getting serious about my life and making bodybuilding a part of it. I fractured my back several months ago, but, that could not keep this kid out of the gym. I now live for bodybuilding as it comes from my heart and deep within my soul. For these few months out of my life I thought about what I wanted to achieve and how far I wanted dot go in this sport. My destiny to shine in my own way which only people like me can understand what that means. I'm in this for the long hall and no one can judge me or take this away. I'm not stopping what I love to do. I think one of the reason's bodybuilding fits me so well is due to the fact that I am a loner. In this sport especially that gives me an advantage. I do like to be alone and this one-man sport competition in this "dog-eat-dog" type environment will allow me to excel to my fullest potential.

I had the great pleasure of working with John Mitchell in Connecticut. My father and I drove out to his apartment. John is a very caring individual. He made sure I was right at home. John made everything fun and it was a pleasure and a privilege to work with him. He is a strict professional! He is patient, funny, and very easy to talk to. John and I hit it off right off the bat. I look forward to more great work with him as I build my career as a fitness model/bodybuilding career. John became more than just a photographer to me and I consider him a very good friend.

Hobbies:
White-water kayaking, Rock climbing, and mountaineering and of course bodybuilding. I play almost all sports.
