Hello everyone, this is the bio of Nick Cooper. I am only 20 years old but I have accomplished a lot throughout my life. I got into bodybuilding at the age of 16, and at 18 I won teen New York State bodybuilding champion. By 19 I won overall teen bodybuilder at the Metropolitan, which is one of the biggest shows on the East Coast. Following that show I became a contracted in-home personal trainer and began to focus more on health and fitness both for myself and my clients. Nothing feels better than helping someone achieve their goals and making them a healthier, more self-confident person. As they grow as a person I grow as an individual. I have tried a wide variety of work out regimens from power-lifting, working out with semi-pro football players, high-rep concentration work outs, to lifting with professional bodybuilders and what I have learned is that everyone’s body is different and unique. What works for one may not work for another. Therefore through trial and error I have constructed a work out combining all the techniques, resulting in a 4 time a week weight-training schedule. Each work out contains 2 body parts, a big muscle group and a small muscle group. For the larger muscles I use 4 exercises. 2 of which are lifted heavy from 8-12 reps and the other 2 are lighter and isolated from 12-20 reps. Then for the smaller muscle group I use 3 different exercises but with only 1 heavy set followed by 2 lighter concentrated sets. I would not say that I diet, but more that I endured a life-style change. I stay away from fast foods and fried foods. I eat 6 to 7 small meals a day, each consisting of a high-protein, low-carb basis. Diets are not permanent and generally result in rapid weight gain and water retention once the diet is stopped. Therefore I eat healthy year round, so I never have a bloated phase. I also do cardio 4 times a week, often twice a day. This is easy for me to do because I am a personal trainer so I simply do the work out with my clients. It keeps me lean and it keeps my clients motivated. We feed off of each other’s energy, which results in an incredible, intense work out. Other than body maintenance I am very family and friend orientated. I am one of the few fortunate to have a loving, non-broken home. I have 2 happily married parents, a gorgeous older sister, and an ingenious younger brother. Who could ask for more? Also outside of the fitness world I am a club promoter for the number 1 ranked club in New York City: PACHA. I love going out and finding a sense of release and freedom. I listen to all types of music but I prefer HOUSE. I am also currently a student at Dutchess Community College in the field of Exercise Science. My goal is to become a physical therapist and use personal training and fitness modeling as a stepping stone to reach that goal. School is very important to me as it marks where I will be in the future. Finally I would like to thank John for a great shoot. I felt very comfortable and welcomed by him. It was my first actual shoot and he carried me the whole way. It was a great experience and I have nothing but positive feedback on his professionalism as a photographer and as a person.
