My name is Charlie Davis. I live in Clarks Summit, Pa. I own Gold’s Gym in Scranton, Pa. I went to East Stroudsburg University for exercise science and sport nutrition. I received my ACSM (American College Sport Medicine) and ACE (American Council Exercise) personal training certifications.

I am currently the head personal trainer at my Gold’s Gym. I am also a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do just short of finishing requirements to take my third degree black belt test. I think I am a very well rounded personal trainer because I practice everything I preach. I went to school to be in this business, I was always very successful in high school sports, I have done several bodybuilding shows and photo shoots, I have been the owner of a large gym franchise for several years, I teach boxing, wrestling, martial arts, I have over 18,000 hours of hands on personal training, and I go out of my way to make my clients feel like friends beyond the gym. I think since I am so diverse in business, sports, martial arts, ages, genders, goals, experience and since I have a very outgoing personality that it makes my knowledge in this field combined with my personality and background a very successful trainer. I also train and diet very hard myself year round to do photo shoots and bodybuilding shows to continue to be an inspirational role model for my clients, without all of them I wouldn’t be going to work to do what I love everyday!

I started bodybuilding in high school for sports. I always competed in three sports per year and weight training made me stronger and faster than many of my opponents. I played soccer, wrestling, and ran track. I started training in The World Tang Soo Do Association in 10th grade. Besides weight training, martial arts is a second love of mine. I am just short of taking the test for my third degree black belt. The funny thing is that the upstairs of my karate school was a gym. Every night was spent doing karate or weights, most nights it was both. I got a key off the owner and would be there at midnight most nights with a friend or by myself practicing forms or posing. I was very unaware what I wanted to do with my life in high school, little did I know that I would go on and make a career of teaching martial arts and teaching weight training and nutrition. I have many trainings a week that consist of boxing, grappling, knees, elbows, kicks, throws, chokes, breaks, guards, and wrestling. When I'm not teaching, I'm training with my lifting partner who is also a national level competitor in Tae Kwon Do. The rest are personal trainings or nutrition lectures preparing people for shows, weddings, photo shoots, sporting events and so on.

My biggest achievement in bodybuilding was winning the overall title at the Steele Jungle Natural Xtravaganza held here in Scranton and was placed on the cover of the last publication of The Steele Jungle Magazine. This show is close to home, my friends and family could attend, and it is a natural show that is always well run which is why I continued until I won in my home town. I will continue to do shows in the future but I am leaning more toward photo shoots and getting exposure for fitness modeling for clothing or supplement work, or features or covers for magazines featuring healthy, good looking models such as Men's Fitness, Men's Health, Fitness RX, Exercise for Men only and such like that

As for quotes, I like to listen to the saying “If you believe it, you can achieve it”! As for foods, I eat very strict with only a few foods I eat on a daily basis, but if it comes to cheat food I have to eat pizza and peanut butter. As for music, I listen to everything from country to techno and everything in between but I love Dave Matthews Band by far the best. As for movies, I like so many, but I really loved “300” because of the story and how well built everyone in the movie was.

I want to thank my friends and family for sticking by me in all my ventures. My clients make my job as a trainer possible so many thanks to them - they are my second family. Max Furek, owner of Steele Jungle publications for the years of publicity and honor of being cover model this month. My mom will always be my mentor, my idol, and best friend. Without her I would never be where I am today - I love you mom!

Last but never least, to John Mitchell. I have worked with John for the past 7 years and will definitely be working with him in the upcoming year. John is a great guy, great photographer, very professional, shows great hospitality and continues to make the shoot fun and interesting. This has been my greatest photo shoot to date, from the fun aspect to the quality of pictures, to the amount of photos taken. I recommend John to any one serious in this business to have photos taken by him, you will not regret it. John and BBpics have a great website that I consider proud to be a part of.

I would like to give a special thanks to Tammy at Real Gainz for giving me this opportunity to be published in her magazine and to John Mitchell for thinking about me by submitting the photos to Real Gainz.
