I have always worked out since my freshman year in high school. I didn't start dieting till about 3 years ago when I was fat and weighed 240 pounds. I had gained a lot of weight because I worked at a pizza place and would eat pizza and cheesecake every day. One day I went to the doctor and they told me I was pre-diabetic so I realized I needed to change my lifestyle. I started going to the gym every day and would spend 2 hours on the treadmill every day and drink 2 gallons of water. I did that every day for 3 months and ended up dropping 60 pounds.
One year later I realized I had some really good abs and I wanted to showcase them. I saw a NPC poster online and realized that was something that I wanted to do. I did my own training for my first contest and my second contest I got a prep coach and my posing coach Jeff Dwelle helped me learn to pose and showcase my physique. I uploaded weekly pictures of myself every week showcasing my physique and would just ask companies if they were sponsoring.
I hop on the treadmill or stair master every day for 45 mins. I like to train individual body parts on specific days. My favorite body part to train is back and favorite exercise is rowing.
I eat 5 times a day; my meals consist of chicken, tilapia, beef, turkey, Oreos, jasmine rice, egg whites, Spartan Performance whey and oatmeal.
My favorite off season meal is 8 oz. ground beef and 1 cup jasmine rice and 1 package red velvet Oreos.
The photo shoot was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. I went 2 1/2 days without water after doing a show a week before. The diet was the easy part because I have done it so long it's just a way of life. The whole time we were doing the shoot all I could think about was drinking water and flexing your muscles as hard as you can for hours be no easy task.
It was worth it. one day later after I posted one picture from the shoot on Instagram. A company saw it and sent me free clothing.
